Gong Li acting debut in the 1987 Chinese film, Red Sorghum. Based on a novel by Mo Yan, this film received international acclaim and won the Golden Bear at the 1988 Berlin International Film Festival.
Gong Li was voted the most beautiful woman in China in 2006.
Gong Li has gone on to appear in close to thirty films, some of which you may be familiar with like 2005's Memoirs of a Geisha, Miami Vice in 2006 and Hannibal Rising in 2007.
